    Swim Team Friends,

*Parents, if you find that your child's designated afternoon swim practice time overlaps with their school or after-school activities, we are happy to accommodate your child's attendance at the next earliest practice time until the school year ends.

*For swimmers that are new to the team this year and 8&Under, they must have completed their new swimmer evaluation with the coaches prior to the start of practice. They may not attend practice until they have been evaluated.

Here’s what you and your swimmer(s) can expect this first week:

    • Pool water temp is 80 degrees (this is the temperature that most swimmers train in for indoor facilities)
    • Although the water is warm, most of the time in the 1st week will be spent outside of the water. Why? Because swimming requires your face in the water, it doesn’t allow for much eye contact, making it much more difficult for the coaches to learn their swimmers. We want to SEE you and get to KNOW you!

    • If you purchased a magnet, blue Speedo swim bag or water bottle and didn’t pick those up at the Coaches Meet & Greet, Team Reps will be onsite to distribute those (all other merchandise will be distributed prior to the start of our 1st meet)
    • If you have not picked up swim ribbons from 2018, Team Reps will be onsite to distribute those

To prepare for practice, here’s some key actions/tips:

    • Ensure your swimmer has the following equipment: swim cap (we can supply if they don’t have one), goggles, swim suit, tennis shoes, water bottle and towel
    • In the event of inclement weather (thunder and lightening because we do have practice if it is just rain), we will communicate practice status with you via RainedOut - the text messaging alert system. Did you sign up?
    • Make sure you know where you are going…all practices will be held at the Mountaire Park pool – 75 Bonnie Lane, Sandy Springs, GA
    • Team suits do not need to be worn during practice, only at meets and time trials. If you haven't ordered your new suit (it is not black this season), you may do so here.
    • Show up on time!

    Next up on deck:

    • Parent meeting: Monday, May 6th 6:00 PM – 6:45 PM (all hands, doesn’t matter if you are a newbie or an oldie but goodie – our team has evolved, and we want to make sure you are along for the ride)
    • Volunteer sign-up: launches Friday, May 10th
    • Time trial: Saturday, May 18th 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM (open to all ages, every swimmer must participate in a time trial)
