Saturday, May 18th: Family Fun Night Potluck & Pep Rally

    4:00 PM-7:00 PM

    @ Mountaire Park Pool

    • With 119 swim team friends attending, this party is going to be a blast. Join your fellow swim team families for an evening of food, fun, and team spirit as we learn new cheers for the season, play pool games, and hang out with our teammates! Our special event team and coaches have planned so much fun for you. And guess what? There will be a robot at the party taking photos of you! For real…
    • Families with last names starting A-L bring a side dish enough for your family and one more family (food should be in disposable container with accompanied serving ware – also disposable)
    • Families with last names starting M-Z bring non-alcoholic, individually packaged beverages enough for your family and one more family
    • Food and beverage containers should be in plastic or disposable container – absolutely NO GLASS at the pool!
    • For the duration of this event, the pool is closed to the general public (only swim team families will be able to enter)
    • Lifeguards will be on duty however parents, please be sure to keep an eye on your children. We are a caring community, let’s watch out for our swim team family
    • Pizza from Papa John’s will be provided as the main course (they love us and are providing a big discount for our team)
    • There is no cost to attend, RSVPs closed for this event on May 16th

    Concessions

    • Our 1st meet is 11 days away and it’s at home therefore it’s now time to sign-up for concessions. Game on guys!
    • A friendly reminder that concessions is one of our biggest fundraisers for the team, this effort needs all our team’s helping hands
    • YOUR NEXT STEP: click on the “Home Meet 1: Concession Sign-Up” link on the “Meets and Events RSVP” page of the website
    • Each family needs to sign-up for one item – NEW THIS YEAR! Our concessions team has categorized items according to recommended store location and cost. What this means for you is no more trying to figure out where to buy the item and no more wondering if your contribution is in line monetarily with everyone else
    • PLEASE – read the item you signed up for very carefully and purchase exactly what is requested (size, brand, quantity). Trust us…our concessions team knows what they are doing. Don’t mess with them! :-)
    • Your concessions RSVP is due by Thursday, May 23rd
    • Your concessions item must be brought to the pool on Tuesday, May 28th between 8:30 AM – 11:00 AM (and placed on the table near the microwave in the upper pavilion). THIS IS CRITICAL. Do not deliver your item before 8:30 AM or after 11:00 AM. Our meet is the evening of May 28th…the concessions team must receive your items within that time frame to prepare properly for the meet. Like we said above, don’t mess with the concessions team :-)
    • If there is an exception to the delivery time on an item, it will be clearly marked on the sign-up page
    • When dropping off, please be sure your item is marked with your name so that we can check you off
    • Here’s a question we know you might have. “What if my child is not swimming in the meet, do I still need to bring an item?” Yes please.

    Volunteering

    • We had a great 1st week of volunteer sign-ups
    • Thank you to those of you that signed up, especially to those families who signed up for more than four spots. Can we say “Volunteer of the Season” award goes to…?????
    • We still have families that have not signed up – please make it happen folks (our “people” will start calling you :-))
    • We have volunteer openings for every meet and our 1st meet has vacant spots (this is crunch time guys, let’s get those spots filled)
    • Feeling giddy? Sign-up now here

    Honorable Mentions

    • Another reminder that time trials are cancelled this weekend. Why? To give you back family time and because our coaching staff who has been efficient and productive during practices and have most all swimmers timed and entered into the computer. Be sure to give them a big hug!
    • PLEASE let us know if your swimmer(s) is participating in our 1st meet. You need to “declare” your swimmer here (scroll down until you see 1st Swim Meet: HOME against Vermack”)
    • RSVP for the post-home meet celebration at our sponsor Abuelo’s Mexican Kitchen and Cantina – these guys are awesome and the food is incredible. If this is the first meet you will have attended in your lifetime, a post-meet margarita will be necessary (you’ll understand what we are talking about, you can thank us later)
    • Attend practice as often as possible. Our coaches want to ensure your swimmer(s) know their strokes, starts, finishes and turns. We want everyone to feel super confident going into this first meet. Every day coaches are working on new strokes and techniques. Did you attend today? It was all about the breaststroke
