2019 ASA Championship Series - we invite you to swim among the best swimmers in Georgia in an Olympic pool
Swim Team Friends,
Perhaps you heard the buzz around the pool today being shared by Coach Nicole…to cap off our awesome swim team season, the Atlanta Swimming Association (ASA) Championship meet series takes place the last week of June at the Georgia Tech McAuley Aquatic Center. The series is comprised of two meets:
- ASA Divisionals (qualifying meet) which takes place on Wednesday, June 26th from 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM
- ASA Championship Finals which takes places on Saturday, June 29th from 11 AM – 2 PM and 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM
The meet is run by ASA and is the largest in the country, with over 3,000 swimmers participating in 6 divisional sessions. Participants have the opportunity to see and compete with future elite swimmers from Georgia. Not to mention, this is an INCREDIBLE opportunity for your children to swim in an Olympic pool that remains one of the best and fastest pools in the country…swimmers will be in the same water that our U.S. Olympic swim team trains in! The Mountaire Park Barracudas are proud to extend participation to our swimmers this year – the first time in several years!
Participation in the meet series entails a $23.00 per athlete entry fee and is completely up to individual swimmers and parents (the only requirement is a swimmer must have participated in at least one regularly scheduled dual meet to be eligible). We encourage EVERYONE to participate, not just those that think they will make finals.
For the ASA Divisionals meet, your athlete can swim in two individual events and if we have enough swimmers in each age group, we will be able to make relays! Additionally, your swimmer can choose the two individual events they want to swim for this meet only.
Your next step:
- RSVP for the ASA Divisionals meet by 5:00 PM on Monday, June 18th
- To do so, click here
- Scroll down the page and click on the green RSVP button for “ASA Divisionals”
- This will open up a page pre-populated with your swimmer(s) name(s)
- Indicate if your swimmer(s) is attending or not attending (and by attending we mean they are swimming)
- In the comments box indicate the two events they would like to swim. If there are no comments, Coach Nicole will choose their events
- Hit the “checkout” button, enter your payment details and follow the prompts

Volunteering:
Once ASA has everyone’s entries, they will send out volunteer and warmup assignments. We are required to have one volunteer for each 12-15 kids we enter in the meet. Most volunteers will need to be available at least 45 minutes prior to the start time of the session to ensure an on-time meet start.
Parking:
Parking at Georgia Tech is unfortunately not free. Only prepaid parking will be allowed in the parking lots adjacent to the Campus Recreation Center (Lot W10) and the Student Center Lot (Lot W2) across the street. If you do not get reserved parking, you will have to park at the State Street (Lot W23) lot a little further away from the facility. To purchase prepaid parking go to https://gatech.parkmobile.io/. Please keep in mind that with construction in the area we strongly advise teams to carpool as best they can. Be sure you select the correct day (Day 1 is Wednesday, Day 2 is Thursday, Day 3 is Friday, Day 4 is Saturday), no one will need an All-Day pass. The cost for the advance passes is $12.00. If you do not prepay for parking you will need cash to park, the cost is $15 at the gate. Please be sure to share this info with your teams. A map to the area around the Aquatic Center can be found at :

Souvenirs:
Fine Designs will be on site at

Our coaches and team reps will continue to chat with swimmers and parents about this opportunity at practices. Be sure to really give this some thought with your athlete(s). Most swimmers in the country don’t have a chance like this in such a world class facility. It is an honor to extend this opportunity to our swim team community.
We love swimming with you!
