Swim Team Friends,

Meets like tonight turn swimmers, volunteers, and parents into superstars. Thank you to all our families who showed up tonight and to our swimmers who rose to the occasion and swam your hearts out. For those swimmers that competed tonight, we are giving you a coupon for ice cream at Baskin Robbins. For real...we are not kidding. Your performance tonight should be rewarded. Come see Team Rep Amber or Team Rep Kim tomorrow at practice and we will give you your coupon. YOU. DESERVE. IT.

Performance like tonight should be rewarded as today's meet was not without its challenges. 10% of our swimmers cancelled within 1 hour of the meet start. This is a huge hit to our team and this directly impacts our swimmers (think about it...relays and heats are incomplete, line ups are changed and swimmers are confused, swimmers are asked to fill in for heats they were never intended to swim, etc.). 

Fortunately, the weather was fine, our team rose, and we won the meet because of YOU (Mountaire 443 to Byrnwyck 344). There's a lot of heart in this team and sometimes you just don't realize how strong you are until you don't have any other choice. SUPERSTARS. YOU. ARE.

• Thank you to the swimmers who swam up and down their ages so that we could maintain the integrity of relays and heats
• Thank you to Coach Nicole, Coach Persy, Coach Turner and Steve Martin who had to rework our line ups literally on deck as the meet was in process
• Thank you to our volunteers who were patient and stayed the course despite not having heat sheets because the line ups had to be reworked
• Thank you to our families who demonstrated the meaning of commitment despite an ominous radar view, earlier activities in the day, and even arrival from out-of-town travel one hour before the meet was to start
