Mountaire Park Barracudas: Week 2 Gear-Up & Video SURPRISE

We must begin our communication by wishing all of our Barracuda moms a happy Mother’s Day. Our talented swimmers were quite busy at practice this week however they fit in time to help us out with a little video surprise for our moms. Enjoy!

Now, let’s get everyone prepared for our 2^nd week…

Practice*: (4-days this week, no practice on Friday)

Monday, May 10^th through Thursday, May 13^th:

3:30 PM-4:00 PM 6&U
4:00 PM-4:45 PM 7-8
5:00 PM-6:00 PM 9&UP

*Parents, if you find that your child's designated afternoon swim practice time overlaps with their school or after-school activities, we are happy to accommodate your child's attendance at the next earliest practice time until the school year ends.

Saturday, May 15th: Family Fun Night

4:00 PM-7:00 PM
Get into the spirit and dress up in your favorite luau garb…think tropical prints, hula skirts, leis, hibiscus, tropical hats, sunglasses and more! And of course, bring your bathing suits, towels and goggles.
Pizza from Papa John’s will be provided as the main course.
Families are invited to bring side items and beverages for their family to enjoy (unfortunately we cannot do a potluck this year due to COVID).
Food and beverage containers should be in plastic or disposable containers – no glass at the pool!
Ice cream truck will be onsite for an after-dinner treat, please bring cash for purchases.
Lifeguards will be on duty however parents, please be sure to keep an eye on your children. We are a caring community, let’s watch out for our swim team family.
There is no cost to attend, RSVPs close for this event on 5/10.

Next Up on Deck:

DEADLINE 5/10: RSVP for the Family Fun Night event and ATTEND on May 15^th. Be sure to record all guests attending and bring side items and beverages for your family should you wish (unfortunately, we can’t do potluck this year due to COVID).
DEADLINE 5/10: Order team t-shirts, tanks and soffee shorts through The Barracuda Shop. We are getting great feedback on these items, they are so great to wear at practices and meets. We won’t be ordering extra apparel items therefore you won’t want to miss this deadline.
DEADLINE 5/13: Order a team suit for your athlete(s). Please be sure your swimmer is fitted and has the suit in hand prior to our first meet on May 27^th. You have a couple of options for fittings. Swim Atlanta (the company supplying the swimsuits) has two shop locations that you can travel to with your swimmer(s). There is a size kit at either location and all the employees can help fit your child:
- Swim Atlanta Johns Creek (4050 Johns Creek Parkway, Suwannee 30024, 770-622-1735)
- Swim Atlanta Sugarloaf (4850 Sugarloaf Parkway, Suite 702, Lawrenceville 30044, 678-442-7946
- Another option is to order online through The Barracuda Shop and utilize the online size chart (scroll down on the page to see girls and boys).
DEADLINE 5/14: Login to your profile from the home page of the website, review the information you input (swimmer names, swimmer birth dates, phone numbers and emails). MAKE SURE it is all correct.
DEADLINE 5/21: Sign up for all five of your volunteer spots throughout the season.Yes, all five. Scroll down to the event name>click the green button tagged “Job signup”, this opens a window with parent names, click “sign up for jobs”, click the button next to the job you wish to sign up for, and hit “save assignments”. DONE! To avoid many emails and phone calls after May 21st, please sign up for all five slots.
